Sympatico.ca is a national portal that delivers news to Canadians every day. I was Senior Designer there for more than 5 years, and in that time, I had to use 3 different logos as the company evolved. While the site was mostly dictated and designed from our partners in California, we could do some great contests and sections headers to make channel pages unique.

I was responsible for marketing the site both internally, and externally on our sister sites and other paid media buys. For building trade sites and consumer sites for sister companies in the Bell Globemedia family, like the yellowpaages.ca corporate site and CTV's website for the new fall lineup of their shows.

Often I would work with the sales department helping put together mock-ups of sales pitches to prospective clients, build an ad campaign with a media parter ( (like the door hangs below created with U-file and Sympatico's finance/tax channel) or put together promotional materials (like the drink mat I designed for the Toronto International Film Festival night that Sympatico sponsored).

A large job the marketing department worked on was a partnership with Bell Mobility, advertising the mobile apps for email, news and weather available exclusively through Bell. We hired an illustrator, wrote the scripts, hired actors to do voices and I art directed the whole thing and did the flash programming. It was a fun microsite (although defunct now).

As well I put together contests for channel promotion (see below the contest made for the Holiday Channel where multiple clients contributed to prizing over the "12 Days of Quizmas") and for clients like Budget and Rona.

The sales team was always keeping me busy with ads and invitations they needed. It was a fun and collaborative atmosphere.
